Risk Assesment

Before we start filming we need to do a risk assessment so that when filming our different scenes we are aware of the risks and we have thought about how we can try to prevent certain situations from happening. We did this so we could prepare the actors and so us our self's for the dangers that we come across when filming our opening sequence.

Choosing a title for our film opening

When making our film opening we went through what we were going to name our opening sequence. After deciding that we would make a crime-drama film opening we decided that it would fit best if we made the title of this opening sequence one word this adds to the effect that the genre gives. From here we then went through what we could call. First off, we came up with the idea to call it:

  • The Missing
  • Vanished
  • Unknown
From here we decided that none of these worked then we decided to name it Genette. We decided on this name because it links to our film opening; it being based on the disappearance of Genette Tate. It also was one word which made it short and more engaging. As well as this we thought that Genette as a title worked well within the type of film genere.

Rob Jones Workshop

On Tuesday 7th February we did a workshop with Rob Jones, in which he watched our film openings and gave us some feedback.

We Showed Rob our rough cut and he gave us some feedback this is what he said:
  • Good shots of her walking , gives the impression that she is walking towards danger; adds tension.
  • Good length of shots , not too short and not too long.
  • Good inigmas created by the shots of her walking
  • Try to differ the transitions between shots
  • Crosscutting is a good way to transition between the shots of Genette and the Man
